There's a New Balance 2002R Colorway for Everybody
Choose from classics such as “Marblehead with Light Aluminium,” or brighten things up with “Petro with Exuberant Pink.”
New Balance‘s 2002R is soon becoming the sportswear brand’s latest big-hitting sneaker, having served as the canvas for collaborations with thisisneverthat, Salehe Bembury, and INVINCIBLE x N.HOOLYWOOD. Now, New Balance has delivered six general release in-line pairs that all of us will be able to get our hands on, sans-collaboration but still just as worthy as their counterparts.
Standouts include the “Marblehead with Light Aluminium” and “Pigment with Light Aluminium” pairs, which give the shoe a gray or navy tone, respectively. The combination of suede, mesh, 3M detailing and signature house branding is best served in New Balance’s archived colorways of gray or navy — simple is often best, and here these tones help elevate the shoe’s retro aesthetic.
Elsewhere, New Balance offers the 2002R in the very clean “Bone with Light Aluminium” makeover, adding cream tones all around that really brighten up and modernize the shoe, making it look less chunky than usual. And lastly, in complete contrast to the rest of the pack, are three multicolored versions.
“Defense Green with Natural Indigo” and “Camo Green with Nettle Green” are very much fall-ready, serving khaki and gray tones alongside pops of neon colors including orange or bright green. A final “Petro with Exuberant Pink” pair is also up for grabs, and is a pair that brightens up not just the shoe’s uppers but also the components found around its ABZORB midsole and SBS ABZORB heel cushioning.
