'Monster Hunter' Vignette Compares Film and In-Game Diablos Visuals
Revealing more previously-unseen footage as well.
Just a week after launching its first teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action adaptation, Monster Hunter has now dropped another vignette, this time showcasing some of the comparisons between the movie and the video game’s graphics and renderings of our favorite monsters, including Diablos himself, who debuted on the silver screen format last week. The clip also includes a short discussion between the film’s director Paul W.S. Anderson and the game’s producer and director, Ryozo Tsujimoto and Kaname Fujioka.
Directed by Anderson, the film stars Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich and Thai martial arts expert Tony Jaa alongside their military crew consisting of TI Harris, Meagan Good and Diego Boneta. According to the synopsis, the group are thrust into a parallel world of monsters during a mission through a peculiar sandstorm and are now forced to confront beasts beyond their imagination. Realizing that their conventional guns and rockets don’t affect the monsters at all, they resort to crafting the weapons we have come to love in the games, including the iconic jaw blade.
Monster Hunter is now scheduled to release in theaters on December 30.
Elsewhere in entertainment, HBO Max has greenlit a Green Lantern series.
