Most apparel collaborations between automotive brands and retailers is fairly concise, but for BMW‘s landmark partnership with KITH, “concise” simply will not do. The New York-based brand has whipped up nearly 100 garments (94 to be precise) to celebrate Ronnie Fieg‘s love of the E30, yielding a vast selection of apparel and a one-off Kith for BMW 1989 E30 M3.
Fond memories of childhood rides in his grandfather’s beloved late-’80s red E30 spurred Fieg to envision a diverse selection of wearables and accessories. These range from co-branded bathrobes to kimono blazers to tracksuits and sweatsuits. Custom-milled textiles are emblazoned with BMW’s memorable hues and imagery, while some take a more literal tact; one intarsia-knit sweater is elevated by a sewn-in rendering of the E30’s front. Racing-inspired leathers, lush suede bombers and wool varsity jackets accompany accessories and home goods that include an umbrella, pillows, mugs and car gear like custom valve caps and license plate frames.
As for the special E30 M3, it features plenty of thoughtful touches. These include bespoke KITH and BMW-branded roundel emblems on the steering wheel, hood, rims and trunk and an embossed KITH monogram across the seat and door panels. Furthermore, BMW spared no expense in remaking the interior, utilizing the highest-grade leather it could source for a truly luxurious finish.
The entire BMW collaboration will be available on KITH’s website, flagships and global shop-in-shops October 23.
KITH most recently dropped a capsule of patchworked Russell Athletic garments.
