Tonal takes on two capable trainers.

Our latest Closer Look segment features INVINCIBLE‘s adidas “UNSTOPPABLE” pack. Just days after the Taiwanese boutique revealed its ’90s-inspired outdoor catalog, we see the two models — the UltraBOOST PB and SL20.2 — back together again.

The two runnings shoes give two very different impressions. While both maintain a tonal color scheme, black for the UltraBOOST and “Coyote Brown” for the SL20.2, they also both serve different purposes. The UltraBOOST, with its light mesh uppers coupled with internal support, is meant to go fast and provide excellently cushioning and energy return with its 20-percent more BOOST and Torsion Spring system. This stealthy pair of trainers sees minimal branding at the medial side.

The SL20.2 offers a bit more support around the foot thanks to its engineered mesh uppers. The structure is also heightened via its rubberized toe cap and multi-panel design. Not just made for running on paved roads, the SL20.2’s Lightstrike midsole offers enough rebound and stiffness for a multitude of surfaces.
