First revealed in October of 2019, Louis Vuitton‘s low-top LV 408 Trainer in monogram denim is now available for pre-order. Inspired by vintage basketball shoes, the Virgil Abloh-designed silhouette toys with the often-referenced idea of sport luxury and is loaded with branded details.
Uppers mix light and dark blue denim panels, all of which are covered in LV’s iconic monogram print. Each piece of the heavily-layered design is separated by thick piping, itself done up in a sporty blue shade — as are the eyestays. Quarter panels boast a special shooting star-style Louis Vuitton graphic, a motif that was first introduced during the brand’s FW20 runway at Paris Fashion Week. Much more traditional LV logos appear on the tongue tag and heel: the former is done up in supple leather while the latter is surrounded by a rubberized counter and accented by white lines. White midsoles and semi-translucent icy blue outsoles round off the look.
Though the LV 408 Trainer is certainly no stranger to attention-grabbing makeups, this denim-coated iteration may be one of its most striking styles yet. It’s available at Louis Vuitton’s webstore now thanks to an exclusive online pre-launch, and is priced at a handsome $1,190 USD.
