REASON Shares Debut Album With TDE, 'New Beginnings'
Featuring Isaiah Rashad, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Vince Staples and more.
REASON season is here. The Top Dawg Entertainment rapper returns with his latest project New Beginnings featuring contributions from ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Vince Staples, JID, Rapsody and Mereba. It’s his first full-length offering since 2018’s There You Have It.
REASON has been hinting at his new project since early last year. Late last week he debuted his “Sauce” single and music video featuring a guest spot from Vince Staples. Other offerings leading up to New Beginnings included “The Soul (Pt. 2)” and his ScHoolboy Q collaboration “Pop Sh*t.”
He also showed promise on past releases like “Show Stop” and “Flick It Up” featuring TDE cohort Ab-Soul. As part of TDE Fan Appreciate Week, the Carson, California native dropped off “Might Not Make It” back in April, too.
“I had to get rid of every fear, anxiety, doubt, and negative mindset to make this project,” REASON said in a recent Instagram post celebrating his album release. “Through it all I’m just proud and thankful for the opportunity to share this part of myself with y’all… I want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone involved in making this project with me. For this to be my debut it was a very special and emotional process so thank you to y’all forreal!”
