TAG Heuer Celebrates 160th Anniversary With Limited-Edition 1964 Carrera Reissue
Including an updated in-house movement.

Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer is celebrating its 160th anniversary this year with a very special release: a reissue of one of its most iconic models, the 1964 Carrera 2447S.
More than just a reissue, TAG Heuer has given the vintage model a few upgrades. Keeping with its classic triple subdial configuration, the company has reworked the case into a more modern, larger size of 39mm in stainless steel, at the same time making the watch more dress-watch friendly with a thinner construction largely thanks to a thinner, upgraded Calibre Heuer 02 movement, replacing the old Valjoux 72. The new movement boasts an impressive power reserve of 80 hours and comes complete with an engraved rotor celebrating the 160th anniversary of the brand. The faceted hands are now also coated with beige SuperLuminova for a vintage aesthetic whilst increasing the performance of the watch’s lume.
For the watch collectors out there, the TAG Heuer 160 Years Silver Limited Edition will be available some time in June, with a limited run of 1,860 pieces only — a nod to the year the Swiss company was born. Take a detailed look at the timepiece above, or head over to TAG Heuer’s website to learn more.
Elsewhere in watches, Audemars Piguet has released a special Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in celebration of Chinese New Year.
