Slum Village's T3 Announces New Solo EP, Shares Lead Single "Relax"
Tapping J Dilla’s brother Illa J and Frank Nitt for the track.

Legendary Detroit MC and co-founding Slum Village member T3 is ringing in the decade with the announcement of a new solo EP titled Mr. Fantastic. The project, set for release via Delicious Vinyl on January 23, is entirely produced by Ruckazoid & Teeko, and will feature a verse from late Slum Village member Baatin. Since the tragic and untimely passing of both Baatin and J Dilla, T3 has sought out to carve his own path, continuing to echo the unmistakable sound the three ushered forth. To commemorate the project’s announcement, T3 has teamed up with fellow Detroit emcees Illa J (J Dilla’s younger brother) and Frank Nitt for a new single titled “Relax.”
Continuing to showcase his witty flow, T3 effortlessly rides across the intricately-layered instrumental, bringing back his iconic “stutter step” hooks. “‘Relax’ is the warm-up, the preheat.” T3 shared via press release. With the crew on it, you know Detroit Ninjas always got a chip on the shoulder like we have something to prove. This is just to let y’all know I got some sh*t coming!”
