Mick Jenkins Bridges Shrewd Flows & Psychedelic Raps on 'The Circus'
Tapping Hit-Boy, IAMNOBODI, EarthGang, and more for the effort.

Just last week Mick Jenkins blessed fans by sharing that he would be releasing a new EP titled The Circus, dropping the project’s lead single “Carefree” that featured production from legendary super-producer Black Milk. Shortly following, he released an intimate video for the cut, which showcased spinning shots of Mick posited against scenery, friends, and more. Now the rapper has released The Circus in its entirety.
As is characteristic of the Chicago-based artist, the seven-track project continues to tap into his thoughtful introspection. Mick remains seated between the boundaries of no-nonsense flows and psychedelically-fueled acid rap, continuing to champion Chicago’s hip-hop limelight through his captivating poetics. He paints lyrical pictures about the downtrodden aspects of life, speaking on his place in the music industry, and more. This is met all with a plethora of equally compelling instrumentals provided by the likes of Hit-Boy, IAMNOBODI, and Da-P, amongst others, further tapping a cameo from Dreamville duo EarthGang.
