A 'Parasite' Limited Series for HBO Is Reportedly in the Works
Developed by Bong Joon-ho and ‘Succession’ executive producer Adam McKay.

As Parasite continues to pick up monumental awards, the Palme d’Or winner is supposedly receiving an HBO limited series treatment from director Bong Joon-ho and fellow filmmaker Adam McKay.
According to sources, the pair is still in the early stages of planning but have decided to adapt the movie into English. Both Bong and McKay will serve as executive producers, alongside Kate Street Picture Company’s Dooho Choi, CJ Entertainment’s Miky Lee, Cho Young Ki, Francis Chung, Jerry Ko and McKay’s partner at Hyperobject Industries, Kevin Messick. CJ Entertainment’s Fred Lee will be joining the team as a producer. Further information including a cast and release date are yet to be revealed.
On top of winning big at Cannes, Parasite recently went home with a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language. It is currently up for two Academy Awards, namely International Feature Film and Music (Original Song) for “A Glass of Soju.” Meanwhile, McKay has been quite a busy executive producing the hit HBO series Succession as it garnered a BAFTA TV Award and Emmy in 2019, and most recently Best Television Series – Drama at the Golden Globes.
