OAMC and adidas Originals Ready SS20 Drop
New takes on the Type O-1 and Type O-2.
After revealing a brand-new Type O-6 silhouette during Paris Fashion Week, Luke Meier’s OAMC and adidas Originals have readied a SS20 drop. Consisting of three Type O-1s and a duo of Type O-2s, the five-shoe capsule is evocative of adidas‘s Supercourt RX. However, it brings plenty of OAMC’s signature street-meets-couture aesthetic to the table as well with its luxurious tonal palettes.
Arriving in “Mid Grey,” “Natural White” and an OAMC-exclusive “Camel” style, the Type O-1 offers a look that’s formidable but functional. This is achieved by combining a mesh, rubber and leather upper with a bold midfoot strap that seems to secure the sock-like top half to the split midsole. Special branding and zig-zagging stitching add further flair, with durable pull tabs ensuring an easy on/off fit.
Meanwhile, the Type O-2 presents a slim upper that’s borrowed from the Stan Smith, placed on top of the same split Supercourt midsole as its lower-numbered predecessor. Both “Mid Grey” and “Natural White” styles combine classic construction with high-end materials, making for an interesting exercise in proportion and construction that proves less can be more when it comes to collaboration.
The OAMC x adidas Originals SS20 collection will release on both the adidas and OAMC webstores January 23, with the Type O-1 priced at $280 USD and the Type O-2 arriving at $250 USD.
