nonnative Blends Washed Indigo, Dusty Desert Tones & Monochromatic Styling for SS20
Wearable layers with a distinctive lived-in feel.
nonnative is back with its SS20 lookbook, presenting a range of intricately cut garments that riff on Americana, workwear, and military inspirations. The result is a lineup of highly wearable styles with a contemporary edge, elevated by a comforting lived-in quality — distressed denim, militaristic parkas, beige desert boots, plaid trousers or washed out trucker jackets that take on the look and feel of old hand-me-downs.
From light mid-layers to thin outerwear, this lookbook introduces a number of dynamic styles that teeters between slimly tailored fits to casual, vintage-esque layers. One noteworthy piece is an olive field jacket that loosely resembles the silhouette of an M65. It comes with a familiar four-pocket construction with nuanced details like concealed snap buttons and light cinching at the waist. The jacket comes with an entirely patterned back emboldened by a scaly camo print that incorporates soft palettes of gray and yellow.
Another highlight is a long black parka that extends past the upper leg and ends just before the knees. It sees “GORE-TEX” branding near the left cuff, nodding to the garment’s protective waterproof shell, while articulated waist pockets, waist-cinching, and adjustable drawcords at the hem round up the muted design. Other pieces like distressed denim, checkered trousers, pleated trousers, finely cut blazers, graphic tees, printed button-ups, leather jackets, knits, henleys, and tote bags round up the expansive range.
