eBay's 2020 Luxury Watch Report Crowns Rolex as Best-Selling Brand
Accounting for 25% of all sales made.
Online auction site eBay has released its Luxury Watch Report for 2020, highlighting the best selling brands, models, most expensive sales and trends across the two million pieces sold in the past year.
The report states that Rolex rules the roost as it accounts for 25% of all luxury watches sold, dominated by its stainless steel models like the Submariner and GTM-Master. Brands including Omega, Breitling, Tag Heuer and Patek Philippe make up the top five alongside the category leader, Rolex.
Some of the most expensive watches sold in the past year include a Patek Philippe Grand Complications Watch for $535,499.99 USD, as well as a Richard Mille RM11 Flyback Chronograph Rose Gold Titanium Watch for $148,000 USD, an Audemars Piguet Millenary MC12 Tourbillon Platinum Watch at $145,000 USD, a Patek Philippe Grand Complications Manual Gold Watch for $139,500 USD and, rounding out the top five, a Rolex 18kt Rose Gold Masterpiece Pearlmaster Pave Diamond 86285 “Sant Blanc” for $100,001 USD.
eBay states that “Rose Gold” watches are back on the rise, as are styles from the ’40s, ’70s, and 1990s — such as the Cartier Tank Watch, which is favored by the likes of JAY Z, Rami Malek and Michelle Obama. Check out eBay’s full Luxury Watch Report for 2020 online.
