London Opens Its First Cheese-Themed Hotel

Following Hard Rock’s guitar-shaped hotel and Atari’s video game-themed offering, London is now joining the ranks with the world’s first cheese-themed hotel.

Conceived by Café Rouge as “a homage to fromage,” The Cheese Suite is draped from top to bottom in yellow decor inspired by the food, including bedsheets, pillows, walls, dairy-based board games, and even cheese soap and a cheese and crackers delivery hotline.

In Britain alone, 700,000 tonnes of cheese is consumed annually, so it makes sense that the Suite would set foot in London. “We wanted to give the nation somewhere new and exciting to be totally immersed in one of their favorite foods in none other than a cheese themed hotel, while also trying some of our winter dishes from the comfort of the sofa,” Jacqueline Fletcher, head of marketing at Café Rouge commented. The new menu features everything from Breaded Camembert to Three-Cheese Croques and Cheese Afternoon Tea.

Unfortunately the Cheese Suite, which is Located in Camden, is only a temporary pop-up created by Café Rouge to celebrate its fromage-filled winter menu, and will only run until Wednesday, February 6. Those interested can win a free night stay for themselves and a guest. All you have to do is head over to Café Rouge’s website to enter. Additionally winners will be gifted a free £50 GBP (approx. $65 USD) gift card. Any proceeds will be donated to Café Rouge’s charity partner The Prince’s Trust.
