Nike Drops Sakura-Inspired Air Force 1 '07 in "Pink Quartz/Galactic Jade"
An ode to early Japanese investors of the company.
After dropping its militaristic Air Force 1 ‘07 Satin Pack, Nike is back with its latest iteration of the silhouette, this time in the form of a limited edition sakura-inspired release. Featured is the “Pink Quartz/Galactic Jade,” an ode to the early Japanese investors who helped enable Nike to grow to become the American footwear giant it is today.
Starting at the top of the shoes, “Nike AIR” branding is etched over the floral tongue tab and heel counter, complemented by tonal laces that cover the forefoot. A creamy rich rose palette appears along the eyelet panels, rear quarters and front mudguards. Contrasting this tone, a lighter shade of pink is placed at the midfoot and toe box, detailed with subtle perforation. A black Swoosh is emboldened at the sidewalls in grained leather, offering added texture to the sneakers. All of these details sit atop a crisp white midsole underscored by a black midsole for added traction.
