Hushed Luxury Informs Lemaire's FW20 Collection
Quietly lavish textiles and draped cuts ensure a satisfying assortment.

Christophe Lemaire‘s eponymous line is marked by an unmistakable sense of opulence, thanks to its rich fabrication and generous silhouettes, always filtered through the French designer’s understated lens. His Fall/Winter 2020 collection is no different, offering both nods to the tailoring trends found in contemporary menswear and a host of covetable, timeless staples.
Plenty of relaxed shirting and draped trousers — Lemaire’s specialties — grace the lookbook, executed in washed cotton, hairy wool and glistening leather for textural intrigue and seasonal warmth. Accenting the core items are trim blazers, generous coats, snug knitwear and heeled boots, lending contrasting length to the various cropped slacks and a sturdy counterpoint to the pooled alternatives. Sophisticated self-belts allow for customizable blazer and pant styling, bolstered by sleek leather shoulder bags that offer traveler-friendly storage without sacrificing Lemaire’s trademark elegance.
Stockists like HBX, SSENSE and Lemaire’s own site will receive the Fall/Winter 2020 collection later this year.
We saw similarly understated elegance at Paris Fashion Week from GmbH, Ann Demeulemeester and Jacquemus.
