G-SHOCK Introduces New GM-6900 Metal Bezel Watch to Commemorate 25th Anniversary
The legendary “Third Eye” G-SHOCK receives two new quarter-century editions.
Casio G-SHOCK‘s iconic 6900 series celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, as a number of limited edition runs and revamps will drop throughout 2020 to pay tribute to the celebrated timepiece. First debuted in 1995, the G-SHOCK 6900 grew to prominence for its “Third Eye” nickname thanks to the three round visual indicators above the digital indicator. Now for the first time ever, G-SHOCK will outfit one of its most popular models with a metal bezel with the introduction of the new G-SHOCK GM-6900 “Metal Bezel” series.
The upgraded GM-6900 combines a mirror finish on the metal bezel with a matte hairline finish to accentuate the legendary gear-inspired rugged silhouette. Three vibrant color options include silver, gold and cardinal red, each utilizing a black strap to contrast the head-turning hues. Casio also plans on releasing another 25th anniversary option in the G-SHOCK GM-6900SP, a matching metal construction but with a major twist of translucence complete with an iridescent gradation on the face. The blue, pink and green indicators add a colorful element into the mix as well, complete with a ‘25’ monogram in celebration of the quarter-century mark. An all-black option of the GM-6900SP is also available.
The Casio G-SHOCK GM-6900 will arrive at international retailers starting Wednesday, February 12 in three different color options for approximately $232 USD. The other limited edition Casio G-SHOCK-6900SP varieties will be available for $141 USD. All options are currently available in Asia via Casio.
