After debuting the shoes during his Spring/Summer 2020 show in London back in June 2019, Craig Green has now given an official look at his latest Grenson collaboration. The fourth project from the British Menswear Designer of the year and the heritage footwear label sees Green work on a classic oxford shoe.

Coming in black hi-shine leather, the shoe mixes Grenson’s history of craftsmanship with familiar elements of Craig Green’s work. The stand-out element is a partial overshoe fixed with elastic, while a stripe run downs the front of the shoe. Finishing off the oxford is a Commando rubber sole.

Speaking about the collaboration, Green explained that “the starting point was the idea of tradition, male footwear codes and what they mean. Taking reference from and combining the structure and detailing of classic styles of footwear, from flip-flops, sandals and spats to worker boots and protective footwear, with the aim to create a season-less shoe. It was important for the final shoes to be lightweight and comfortable to wear, whilst protective and sturdy in the way that they look and are constructed, created with the knowledge and craftsmanship of the Grenson UK factory.”

The Craig Green oxford shoe is available now from the Grenson web store.

In other footwear news, NEIGHBORHOOD has partnered with Clarks for its latest collaboration.
