CELINE has tapped the Canadian artist Shawn Kuruneru for its latest “Artistic Project” installment. The series has previously seen the likes of Christian Marclay rework a number of the house’s staple pieces, and this time around, Kuruneru lends his hand to everything from tech accessories to T-shirts.
Kuruneru’s works are inspired by traditional Chinese calligraphy and Western comics, which perfectly complement the minimalist designs created under Hedi Slimane‘s vision. The capsule collection is comprised of a T-shirt, sweatshirt, denim jacket, a pair of Triomphe Mid sneakers, two wallets and an iPhone XS case.
Each piece features an artwork that is both geometric and free-flowing, giving a subtle nod to the design tropes of the Bauhaus movement. The standout piece from the collection is the denim jacket, as its classic blue finish is contrasted by the large rear graphic.
