Y-3 Channels "Contrast and Duality" in Part Two of Its FW19 Campaign

As well as debuting the Kyoi Trail sneaker.

After releasing its first selection of Fall/Winter 2019 campaign imagery back in June, Y-3 has returned with another installment. The new campaign imagery is based around themes of “contrast and duality,” showing models wearing simplistic and monochrome pieces against a dark gray backdrop.

The items worn by the models showcase the FW19 collection’s archival influence, with Yohji Yamamoto infusing adidas pieces from three decades — 1970s, ’80s and ’90s — with his own design language. The key items in the campaign include minimal technical knitted dresses, sweaters with contrasting logo motifs and heavily branded scarves.

In addition to debuting the latest campaign imagery, Y-3 has also released a first look at its all-new Y-3 Kyoi Trail silhouette. The sneaker is a reworked version of classic trail runners, with a winter-ready upper constructed from heavy textile and leather. Elsewhere, the Kyoi Trail features breathable mesh interiors alongside a thick collar and tongue, before being finished with Yohji Yamamoto’s signature on the side.

Take a look at the campaign in the gallery above. Y-3’s FW19 collection, including the Kyoi Trail sneaker, will begin releasing on September 19 at the Y-3 web store and select retailers.

In related news, three adidas YEEZY Powerphases are set to drop this week.
