Rex Orange County Drops First New Song Since Valentine's Day, "10/10"
Rex delivers an in-home performance for the track’s official video.
Several months after delivering his first new record since 2017, “New House,” Rex Orange County is finally serving up another track. Specifically, the acclaimed singer-songwriter’s latest release is billed as his “first formal single” since his 2017 composition “Loving Is Easy” and comes to us following notable outings at several festivals across the globe. The track is being debuted alongside its visual component as well, which was put together by director Warren Fu and documents Rex as he delivers a bizarre in-home showcase.
Although Rex Orange County has yet to publicly reveal any official details concerning his next major studio album, he did reveal some minor information about his Apricot Princess follow-up during a 2018 interview with Billboard. Opening up about his forthcoming LP, Rex said that he wanted to explore “subjects that I haven’t covered as much, [because] some of the best songs aren’t actually love songs.”
“More people are going to listen to it, so I do think about that shit — is this any good?” Rex shared with Billboard. “Are people going to be like, ‘This is the worst thing I’ve ever heard?’ But I’ve got the time to do it right.”
