Randy Newman, the mastermind behind the iconic Toy Story theme song “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” has recruited Rex Orange County for a new rendition of the song. The new version finds Rex flaunting his piano skills and both artists showcasing their vocals.

“I was lucky enough to get approval from Randy and on top of that, he agreed to join me on the cover of the song,” Rex said. “Piano played by me, vocals by me and Randy himself. Thanks to everyone that allowed this to happen.” Listen to the remake and the original below.

Last month, Rex Orange County made his late night debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Disney and Pixar also announced that Toy Story 4 will be released on June 21, 2019.
