Raf Simons Pays Homage to David Lynch in Latest FW19 Pieces
A nod to ‘Twin Peaks’ and ‘Blue Velvet.’
After releasing its oversized double-layered cap a few days ago, Raf Simons is back with two new shirts from his FW19 collection, paying homage to David Lynch‘s TV series Twin Peaks and his 1986 neo-noir Blue Velvet.
First up is the David Lynch Long-Sleeve T-shirt glossed with a large portrait of Laura Dern from Blue Velvet. The shirt sees a relaxed cut with slightly dropped shoulders. In reference to the movie title, the print is shaded in a deep blue tint contrasted against a crisp white base. The next piece is a nod to Twin Peaks emblazoned with a vinyl print of a cut from the show. Rendered in a dark red palette, the image is placed over a black tee and features a scene with Dale Cooper, Laura Palmer and Bobby Briggs. Rounding up the designs, both shirts are stamped subtly with a woven tag of this season’s Raf Simons logo around the back collar.
