Final 'Doctor Sleep' Trailer Recreates Iconic Scenes From 'The Shining'
Including the return of two prominent characters.
The final trailer for Warner Bros.’ Doctor Sleep has landed, and the two-minute clip is a visual treat for fans of its predecessor.
Director Mike Flanagan (Oculus, Hush, The Haunting of Hill House) pays homage to Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining and takes the audience back to Overlook Hotel, revisiting sights such as the brown, red and orange carpet, the axed-away “Redrum” door in the Torrance family’s old room and the return of the perpetually creepy Grady twins. Former Overlook Hotel cook Dick Hallorann also makes his first appearance in the sequel film, with Carl Lumbly taking over the role from the late Scatman Crothers.
Within the new trailer, we see Danny Torrance (Ewan McGregor) and Abra Stone (Kyliegh Curran) attempt to dodge Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson) as the cult leader continues to steal the young girl’s shining ability. Rose is made aware of the girl’s strength, and Dan and Abra make their way to Overlook Hotel for what might be their final battle.
