Listen to Vic Mensa's Punk Rock Album '93PUNX'
Featuring Tom Morello, Good Charlotte and produced by Travis Barker.
Earlier this year, rapper Vic Mensa revealed his punk rock project 93PUNX and released a cover of The Cranberries’ “Zombie” along with a charity tee benefitting Kids in Need of Defense. Now, the collective has released its self-titled rock/rap album addressing topics around racial injustice and politics. “Being passionate about things that really matter, not being afraid to express yourself outside of conventions, stereotypes. I grew up skateboarding so I’ve always felt like a kindred spirit, it’s informed my whole life, from the politics to the clothes, to the way I carry myself, ” the Chicago rapper stated in a recent interview with HYPEBEAST.
The 14-track album includes features from rock heavy hitters like Good Charlotte, Tom Morello and Francis and the Lights, and was executive produced by Blink 182’s Travis Barker. Vic took to Twitter to share clips of the band performing tracks like “Goodbye 2 Heartbreak” “United States of Evil” and “Numb.”
