Original Story (August 27, 2019): Slated to release this fall, HBO and BBC have just shared a new trailer for its upcoming fantasy series His Dark Materials.

Unlike the last two trailers released, which placed a large focus on James McAvoy and his Lord Asriel counterpart, the latest visuals center on the girl placed in the middle of all the magic and action, Lyra (Dafne Keen). Coming in at just over one-minute, the clip features the young heroine of the story preparing for an adventure. Soon after when it is discovered other young children have begun to go missing, Lyra takes it upon herself to help them, something she feels destined for.

The series is based off of the bestselling novels by Philip Pullman and is set in an alternate world where one’s soul manifests as a shape-shifting animal called a Daemon. His Dark Materials also stars James McAvoy, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Anne-Marie Duff, Clarke Peters and Ruth Wilson. Stay tuned for an official release date.
