BROCKHAMTON Drops Hard-Hitting New Single "I BEEN BORN AGAIN"
The first sound from ‘GINGER.’
BROCKHAMPTON has dropped “I BEEN BORN AGAIN,” the first single from upcoming album, GINGER.
The track features Kevin Abstract, Joba and Merlyn Wood from the band’s ever-growing crew, and comes with a Spencer Ford-shot visual — the same videographer who created BROCKHAMPTON’s trippy “J’ouvert” visual.
The track marks the band’s return following last year’s hit-album Iridescence as we gear up for the release of the collective’s fifth studio album later this month. Abstract recently spoke with GQ saying, “something we’re doing is putting those type of lyrics — like this shit is trash, anxiety, depression, all that stuff — taking those type of lyrics and putting it on a song that a bunch of people could dance to or something.”
You can hear this in “I BEEN BORN AGAIN.” The track is hard-hitting, gritty and features a glitchy backing track that supports the quick-fire bars and ad-libs. It starts off in a typical BROCKHAMPTON fashion, slow-paced and bassy, but soon transitions into Merlyn’s more energetic verse. Check out “I BEEN BORN AGAIN” by BROCKHAMPTON and its accompanying grainy visual above, or stream it on Apple Music and Spotify below.
