Rema Drops Ambitious New EP 'Freestyle'

The rising Nigerian star

Rema has dropped off his latest record, Rema Freestyle EP. The Nigerian rapper follows up his eponymous debut EP with a shorter offering, clocking in at just under 10 minutes. Staying true to the EP’s title, he delivers four freestyle tracks that run from two to two-and-a-half minutes long. There’s a more evident use of cloudy electric guitar riffs this time around — strongly heard at the beginning of each number — but the album remains heavily trap. As Rema continues to push Nigeria into the music map, however, he remains realistic with and aware of those who doubt him. Choosing to drown out the noise, the rising artist keeps a steady eye on his future instead, ensuring that he fulfills his own creative vision.
