PUMA has unveiled the next installment to its RS line with the RS 9.8 — a retro-futuristic sneaker which is inspired by the approximate speed of gravitational acceleration near the Earth’s surface of 9.8 m/s².
The PUMA RS 9.8 will release in four colorways at different dates between July and September, seeing “Space,” “Core,” “Cosmic” and “SciFi” release accordingly. Its design falls in line with the chunky aesthetic associated with the RS division, sporting a thick Running System technology-equipped midsole paired with bulbous units on the mid-section and rear.
PUMA crafted the upper from mesh textile upper which is overlayed with leather and suede panels in contrasting colors. A graphic tab featuring the sneaker’s name and the PUMA emblem adorns the tongue, while the rear heel gets engraved with “R\\SYSTEM.”
