'Attack on Titan' Announces Fourth & Final Season
The anime adaptation is ending its run alongside the manga’s final arc.
As Attack on Titan‘s manga series nears its last chapter, it seems like the anime adaptation is following suit. The announcement of the fourth and final season was made right after the season three finale, with a 15-second teaser that features the voice of Mikasa saying, “Eren, please, come back.” No exact premiere date was included, but a Fall 2020 release date was indicated.
On top of the vague premiere date, it’s still unsure if original producers WIT Studio will handle the final season. Rumors of their departure from the series began circulating in early 2019 although nothing has been confirmed.
The manga, written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, was first published in September 2009 and currently holds a total of 28 volumes. WIT Studio picked up the anime adaptation and premiered the first season in April 2013, receiving stellar reviews and quickly becoming a beloved anime title.
