Japanese footwear stalwart Mizuno has returned with one of its top performing models – the Mizuno Wave Prophecy 8. The silhouette is given a sleek triple black treatment with subtle silver accents and tonal details.
The sneaker comes in a mix of black rubber, mesh and leather panels that add visual depth to the tonal sections. At the top of the tongue is a rubber plate stamped with Mizuno’s logo, while mesh fabrication is applied to the lower regions, covering the forefoot and toe box. A slightly translucent rubber patch is placed at the heel with “MIZUNO WAVE” detailed below. Curved ridges appear at the rear quarter and the sidewalls, which reinforce the lace cage. Finishing off the footwear piece is the shoe’s defining highlight – its futuristic midsole. Equipped with “U4icX” technology, the midsole is corrugated from the back all the way to the front, ensuring the footpad provides enough cushioning for both shock absorption and stabilization.
The Mizuno Wave Prophecy 8 “Black/Silver” is currently available at atmos-tokyo.com for $212 USD.
