Footpatrol, one of London’s leading sneaker stores,  has collaborated with the Japanese sportswear company Mizuno for the release of the Sky Medal OG.

In 2018, Mizuno looked to its archives to revive the Sky Medal OG. The label brought it back from the ’90s, a time which saw it on feet of track and field athlete Carl Lewis in 1992 and in stores by 1993. The latest collaboration uses the “Antique White/Prism Violet” colorway to reimagine the fashion and culture of when the Sky Medal OG released.

Footpatrol keeps a focus on simplicity with its collaborative Mizuno release, utilizing materials such as real and synthetic suede, as well as mesh throughout the upper, to maintain the Sky Medal OG’s distinctive shape and design. It features numerous overlaying panels which have been highlighted in “Prism Violet,” gold and “Antique White” to offset each other, as well as embroidered co-branding in gold on the tongue.

Rounding off the Footpatrol x Mizuno Sky Medal OG is a set of branded heel cups in “Prism Violet” suede. The heel cups sport the OG Mizuno logo and the slogan “Footpatrol / London City Locals.” A pair of engraved leather insoles are supplied for a premium finishing touch.

Take a look at the editorial in the gallery above — where you can spot the duo’s matching socks — and keep an eye out for the sneaker’s imminent release later this month at Footpatrol stores. The Footpatrol x Mizuno Sky Medal OG will be available in UK sizes 6-11 (including half sizes) and will be priced at £135 GBP (approx. $170 USD).

In other news, the Parra x Nike SB Dunk Low has been given an official release date.
