After breaking down the 10 best footwear offerings from the SS20 runways, we can now turn our attention back to the biggest sneaker headlines from the past week.

Tensions continue to rise over in Hong Kong regarding China’s extradition law, which led Nike to cancel the release of its collaborative UNDERCOVER sneakers in the country. Additionally UNDERCOVER’s designer Jun Takahashi shared his support for the protesters in Hong Kong.

Elsewhere, the sports world had a lot to celebrate. Nike officially unveiled Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Zoom Freak 1 along with an updated Tiempo football boot. We also got a better look at the adidas YEEZY “Quantum” basketball sneaker.

Fans were also given a few first looks at two iterations of Tinker Hatfield’s Air Max 1 in both “Sketch” and “Schematic” colorways, as well as a sneak peek at Chinatown Market’s team-up with PUMA.

Finally with summertime rolling in, sandal options have been increasing tenfold. For luxe takes, Gucci dropped a GG-plaque quilted leather option while both John Elliott and mastermind JAPAN collaborated with Suicoke for more street-inspired models.
