BEAMS & Insonnia Projects Rework Vintage Rage Against the Machine T-Shirts
Featuring rare Barbara Kruger prints from the late ’80s to early ’90s.
Following up to its previous collab with CITIZEN, BEAMS has tapped Japanese label Insonnia Projects [sic] for three premium graphic T-shirts that pay homage to the alternative metal band Rage Against the Machine.
Featured are reproduced merch T-shirts emblazoned with three rare prints that were created in the late ’80s to early ’90s by Barbara Kruger. The artist’s iconic typeface is seen next to various evocative sketches. On one of the T-shirts, the words “Who Laughs Last?” is placed next to a skeleton speaking into a mic.
Elsewhere, a different piece juxtaposes “Who is free to choose?” with an illustration of two girls playing with a puppet. The last T-shirt is printed with “Who is beyond the law?” below a drawing of a hand holding a stack of bills. Each garment is crafted on vintage looms for maximum softness and comes in both black and white options, tinged with a slight vintage fade and a brass piece at the back collar above “RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE” branding.
The BEAMS x Insonnia Projects Rage Against the Machine T-shirts capsule will be available at beams.co.jp on July 19, 10 p.m. EST for approximately $98 USD.
Elsewhere, visvim has dropped a duo of unique Free Edge Shirts.
