Following the Fall/Winter 2019 collaboration, which yielded the Type 01 silhouette, OAMC and adidas Originals reunite for another joint effort. This time, the collaborators deliver a bespoke hiking shoe — the “Type 04” — elevating a utilitarian silhouette with futuristic textiles.

First seen on the OAMC Spring/Summer 2020 runway, the shoe blends beige nubuck on the upper with lightweight mesh panels, hidden in cut-outs towards the heel and midfoot for extra ventilation. Keeping in line with OAMC’s stylishly functional garments, the neutral-toned shoe repurposes aeronautics inspiration for details like the sturdy leather toe, contrasting yellow stitching and translucent plastic panel towards the heel, while the outdoors influences is realized by the layered, trail-ready rubber outsole.

OAMC and adidas will provide more information about the Type 04 sneaker later this year.

Elsewhere, adidas Originals joined with Craig Green for a series of revamped Kamanda sneakers.
