UK-based label STORY mfg. has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2020 collection, showcasing an expansion of the brand’s signature aesthetic and techniques. Titled “Gentle Machines,” the collection is described as showing how plants are “powerful but gentle machines.”
For this collection, the brand has continued to work with plant-based materials and dyes, as well as exploring new techniques for the new season. Stand-out additions include handwoven checks and ginghams — which appear on jackets, shirts and trousers — as well as the introduction of a new lilac purple color produced from a tree. Elsewhere, STORY mfg. expands its jersey range with natural-dyed hoodies and tie-dye T-shirts.
As well as the main SS20 collection, “Gentle Machines” also includes a cold weather holiday capsule. Comprising of sherpa fleece jackets as well as knit and crochet scarves and hats, this will arrive in late 2019, before the rest of the collection.
Take a look through the full lookbook in the gallery above. The collection will shortly be available for pre-order from the STORY mfg. web store, before hitting select stockists early next year.
