BMW Unveils $120K USD 8 Series Gran Coupe M850i
Equipped with a 526 BHP twin-turbo V8 engine.

BMW has unveiled the four-door 8 Series Gran Coupe in its range-topping M850i form. The announcement of the fully-fledged luxury family car adds two more doors to the stunning 8 Series Coupe, which will release later this Fall.
The new 8 Series Gran Coupe M850i features a twin-turbo V8 engine that is capable of producing 526 BHP and reaching 0-60 MPH in just 3.9 seconds. BMW paired the engine to a 4WD system which features active steering, which prevents oversteering at high speeds for increased stability.
BMW also equipped the M850i with an M Sport differential, stiffened suspension springs and adaptive dampers, which all work together to deliver a powerful, sporty performance and ride. The new model also features a number of design firsts for BMW such as the slimmest headlights ever seen on one of its cars, as well as an exaggerated mono-piece kidney grill which channels BMW’s new design language.
The Gran Coupe is 201mm longer than the 8 Series Coupe and 70kg heavier, but that weight can be reduced with a number of optional carbon fiber options. It’s wider and taller too thanks to an aggressively sculpted body kit and the requirement to seat four adults.
Prices start at approximately $87,000 USD for the rear wheel drive 840i, $93,000 USD for the 840d xDrive and $123,000 for the top-spec M850i.
