The Sneaker Politics x Saucony Shadow 5000 "Café Du Monde" is a Tribute to New Orleans' Heritage
Perfect for the coffee and donut lover.
Inspired by the iconic Café Du Monde in New Orleans, Sneaker Politics has worked alongside Saucony to drop a Shadow 5000 colorway paying homage to the city’s most famous open-air coffee shop.
With tones reminiscent of the beignet — NO’s heritage 1862 city staple — the “Beignet Brown” features a three-tone brown suede leather and mesh upper, detailed with white flecks mimicking the powdered sugar sitting atop the delicacy. The upper is coupled with a white tongue and midsole completed by a dash of green on the tongue’s branding and outsole — an homage to the Café Du Monde’s patio overhangs. The classic color theme extends into the insole with green and white stripes paired with a solid brown by the heel. Coming with the sneakers are two sets of laces in green and white, as well as a specially designed vintage-themed shoe box. The collaboration also brought a second “Powdered Sugar” colorway which has yet to be revealed, releasing at the same time as the “Beignet Brown,” though limited to only 200 pairs.
The Sneaker Politics x Saucony Shadow 5000 “Beignet Brown” and “Powdered Sugar” will both be available on June 22 exclusively at Sneaker Politics’ New Orleans location, along with a collaborative capsule with Rokit and Stance featuring t-shirts, socks, and more.
