YouTuber Simone Giertz Transformed Her Tesla Into a Pickup Truck "TRUCKLA"
“I got tired of waiting for Tesla to release their pickup truck, so I made my own.”
Elon Musk previously announced that Tesla would be making an electric pickup truck, and there’s already been concepts from fans and designers enthusiastic about the upcoming release, but YouTuber Simone Giertz has taken it to a whole new level — by building her own.
Known for her quirky robotics inventions, Giertz decided that she was “tired of waiting for Tesla to release their pickup truck,” so she took the project into her own hands and transformed a Model 3 into the “TRUCKLA.” Documenting the whole build process, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Shitty Robots” bought a Tesla Model 3 and completely scrapped the back seats and the trunk, transforming the rear end of the EV into a truck bed. The entire video is 31 minutes long, and you can watch it down below.
Aside from building it, Giertz also had a little fun with the finished vehicle, shooting a mock advertisement for her aptly-named “TRUCKLA.” The promo video showcases the electric pickup truck getting some off-road action, as well a quirky comedic shot of Giertz herself dressed as a cowboy and lassoing the car with an electric plug and cable. Check out the two minute video above.
