'MIDSOMMAR' Drops New Trailer to Celebrate Summer Solstice
Daylight never looked so evil.
Indie studio A24 has fittingly dropped a new trailer for Ari Aster‘s forthcoming horror flick MIDSOMMAR today to, well, celebrate summer solstice.
As the company that has already given us the cult classic hit Ex Machina and the 2016 Academy Award winning Best Picture Moonlight, A24 is hoping Aster’s latest auteur-driven feature MIDSOMMAR will be just as successful as his debut project, Hereditary.
What seemingly starts off as an innocent festival filled with dancing, eating, games and drinks to celebrate the summer solstice soon turns into a disturbing feast of cannibalism, evil spells and cult-like rituals. The film centers around a young American couple who travel to rural Sweden to join in on the “once-in-a-lifetime” event to distract them from their failing relationship. Once there, it looks as if they need to depend on each other once again to survive the horrors.
The one-minute trailer posted above features some new visuals and hints to what audiences can expect when MIDSOMMAR finally drops on July 3.
In more entertainment news, the Spider-Man: Far From Home post credit scenes have been revealed.
