Last year, we saw La MJC and Mizuno collaborate on a striking red-colored Wave Rider 1. The duo has returned, this time with a fresh set of sneakers clad in monochrome.

Mizuno has enlisted Michael Dupouy’s La MJC to reintroduce the Mizuno Mondo Control – a silhouette that first came out in 1994. The release comes in celebration of the Parisian Boutique Club 75’s fourth anniversary and includes the colorways “Carte Blanche” and “Or Noir.” A mix of suede and mesh panels cover the uppers, complete with embroidered branding along the sides. Tonal laces cover the embossed leather tongue, while Mizuno’s signature logo graces the vamps. Swatches of premium suede cover the toe cap and rear, with subtle perforations at the heel. As a finishing note, the sneaker comes with an articulated midsole etched with circular debossing and striped ridges. Each colorway comes in a limited run of 75 pairs.

The La MJC x Mizuno Mondo Control “Carte Blanche” and “Or Noir” will be available exclusively at Club 75’s physical location in Paris on June 22.

In other related news, the Converse Chuck 70 sneakers have arrived in a multicolored flaming archive print.

Between 1993 and 1996, the “Mondo” series were the top running collection from Japanese brand Mizuno. Born in 1994, amongst the series, the Mondo Control model made History and was characterized by its very particular stabilizer going through all the shoe until the forefoot. This iconic stabilizer inspired a few years after the legendary “Wave” technology, introduced in 1997 with the Wave Rider model….A shoe I was honored to work on last year, as my first project with Mizuno. Today, I’m even more honored to be the first one globally to be able to work on the Mondo Control. I wanted to re-introduced the magic silhouette to the world without touching it too much, as its design is so strong and pure already. Keeping things chic and classic I opted for a full white and full black duo, with premium materials, mesh, suede, leather and a subtle touch of 3M. Going to crazy on this one was unnecessary, as my first idea was to make sure you will remember the model, and enjoying it as we were still in 1994. La MJC for Mizuno Mondo Control “Carte Blanche” and “Or Noir” models will both release at the occasion of Club 75 flagship 4th anniversary, on June 22nd, exclusively in Paris. Both pairs are numbered and (obviously) limited to….75 pairs each! You are welcome to get yours at the store from 11.30 in the morning and then party with the crew from 4pm til early evening. Music, drinks, birthday cakes on us! #lamjc
