Yuna Announces New LP 'Rouge' & Drops Visual for "Blank Marquee" Feat. G-Eazy
The Malaysian international pop star has a big project in store.
Malaysian-born international pop artist Yuna has announced her upcoming fourth international studio album, Rouge, commemorating the announcement by releasing the visual for her G-Eazy-featured single, “Blank Marquee.” The new track relishes in much of Yuna’s signature sound, combining her entrancing vocals alongside a ‘90s-esque disco instrumental produced by Grammy-nominated artist and Rhye co-founder, Robin Hannibal. G-Eazy lays down his usual flow, contrasting well with Yuna’s more delicate sonic approach. The video takes on a similarly nostalgic-yet-timeless experience. Set during the nighttime, various retrofuturistic elements such as neon lights, cars, and motorcycles are incorporated.
In a press release for her forthcoming LP, Yuna noted that “the whole album is about how I am with myself: I’m comfortable with my relationship, with my focus on my career. It’s the color of becoming this woman I am.” The project will carry a range of star-studded global features from Little Simz, Jay Park, Masego, and more. It will be out on July 12 via Verve Forecast.
