Reebok Takes Retro Sky-High With the Aztrek Double
The chunky runner undergoes an even heftier remake.
Building atop the enduring popularity of Reebok‘s Aztrek runner, the British footwear imprint is introducing a contemporary twist for the retro sneaker. The Aztrek Double takes the classic shoe’s appealing heft and upgrades it with an extra-chunky outsole and variety of tweaked details.
An exaggerated midsole and more substantial outsole, complete with blue accent, give the Aztrek Double an even more substantial silhouette than its predecessor, amplified by a layered upper. Suede and mesh intermingle on the upper, with a 3D “wing” attached to either side of the vamp, granting extra color contrast and a sharper profile. The womens’ sneaker will initially launch in a variety of muted colorways that take advantage of the textile eyelets and pull tab for bright hits of color.
