Alongside a campaign starring Caster Semenya.
Following on from the most recent leak earlier this month, Virgil Abloh and
Influenced by Nike’s archival running silhouettes, the Zoom Terra Kiger 5 features small running spikes alongside technical-style laces and a Nike Zoom sole unit. These performance references are combined with signature Off-White™ design touches, including the lace tag — this time coming in dark green — and the orange tab on the Swoosh. The collaborative sneaker will release in three colorways: “White/Metallic Silver/Sail/Safety Orange,” “Electric Green/Metallic Silver/Sail” and “Black/Metallic Silver/White/Pink Blast.”
Speaking about the collection, Abloh explained that he “started talking with Nike about this women’s running project last summer and at the time, I was very much inspired by the aesthetic and style of track and field athletes. As a result, I invited some of Nike’s elite track and field champions to participate in my SS19 Off-White™ runway show as the natural forerunner to developing and showcasing the collection.”
To mark the launch of the “Athlete in Progress” collection, Off-White™ and Nike have worked with South African runner and 800-meter World Champion Caster Semenya for a set of campaign images.
The Off-White™ x Nike “Athlete in Progress” collection of a running top, tights and the three Zoom Terra Kiger 5 colorways will release globally on June 27.
