Real Madrid Tops the World's Most Valuable Soccer Teams List 2019
Barcelona and Manchester United are right up there too.
On the cusp of Chelsea’s 4-1 victory over Arsenal at this year’s XL version of a London derby for the Europa League finals, Forbes released the 2019 edition of the world’s most valuable soccer teams, and Real Madrid tops the rankings once again after a two-year hiatus.
Back on top, the Spanish team is valuated at $4.24 billion USD, after raking in $100 million USD from its third consecutive UEFA Champions League win last year, with reports pointing at a possible $1.8 billion USD 12-year deal with adidas — the sport’s highest kit deal ever. Aside from breaking down a team’s valuation into four categories along with a final total-sum list, the report also sheds light on the industries fiscal growth largely thanks to increasingly expensive sponsorship deals, growing media and broadcasting rights, and record-breaking prize pools.
Statistically, Forbes reports that the top 20 most valuable teams are worth on average $1.75 billion USD in 2019, reflecting a 3.4% growth from last year — a year in which the top teams’ values already grew a whopping 8.8%. Check out the full list below:
