Acne Studios follows up its timely hiking sneaker with a seasonal capsule range of denim layers in partnership with Starter Black Label. The premium arm of Starter sportswear, Black Label reaches back into the company’s historical archives to bolster a variety of Acne Studios’ denim with retro branding.

Classic Acne Studios items, including washed-out denim jackets and jeans, receive a facelift via embroidered Starter logos and oversized “13” text. Baseball-inspired overshirts, boxy tees and basketball jerseys all receive graphic accents, some finished with co-branded tags near the hems. Summer-ready shorts match the sportier layers in tone and branding, with a suitably retro cut reinforcing the throwback motif. Indigo or black 1996 and 1997 jeans match 1998 and 2000 denim jackets, offering all-over patches from both labels or pinpoint logos for a more subtle effect. A matching basketball and satin varsity jacket round out the capsule.

The Starter Black Label capsule arrives on Acne Studios’ web store and retail outposts on May 30.

Elsewhere, Acne Studios layered up for Fall/Winter 2019 with its latest Face offering.
