Hideo Kojima's 'Death Stranding' Receives Release Date, Full-Length Trailer
Edited by Kojima himself.
With die-hard Hideo Kojima fans anxiously scanning for rumored pre-order dates, if not a proper release date, for the much-anticipated Death Stranding, the latest dispatch from Kojima Productions must feel like a breath of fresh air. The Japanese game developer has introduced an unheard-of eight minute-long trailer for the forthcoming digital experience, complete with an expected launch date.
For those unacquainted with Kojima’s infamously heady plot conceits, the expansive trailer may feel like a chore — for fans who exhaustively research every reference made by the developer, refreshing his Twitter for updates on forthcoming projects, the clip will barely whet their appetite. Stunning visuals showcase Norman Reedus’ Sam traversing a hellish, decomposing alternate-universe Earth, with in-game footage juxtaposed against stunningly-rendered cutscenes. Snatches of the plot are trickled out, including a divided America, militant separatists, a surreal revived battlefield and “bridge babies.”

Recently, Kojima tantalized devotees of Metal Gear Solid series with a playful tweet.
