All seven members of the South Korean boy band were decked out in matching black suits, influenced by The Beatles’ 1964 appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. Even the program itself was cast with retro black-and-white imagery, mimicking the monochrome broadcast akin to previous eras. It’s a fitting tribute for the Bangtan Boys, whose Map of the Soul: Persona album nabbed the top spot on the Billboard 200 after its release last month. The feat marked the first time for a traditional group to claim three No. 1s on the chart in less than a year since The Beatles’ own 1995-96 run.
