Watch BTS Give Epic Tribute to The Beatles on 'The Late Show'
Mimicking the band’s 1964 performance on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show.’
Mega K-pop group BTS made a stop at The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this week, giving a special performance of their “Boy With Luv” track in a musical tribute to The Beatles.
All seven members of the South Korean boy band were decked out in matching black suits, influenced by The Beatles’ 1964 appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. Even the program itself was cast with retro black-and-white imagery, mimicking the monochrome broadcast akin to previous eras. BTS showed off a series of synchronized dance moves with the song, while Colbert played along by adding his finest Sullivan impersonation. Check it all out in the video above.
It’s a fitting tribute for the Bangtan Boys, whose Map of the Soul: Persona album nabbed the top spot on the Billboard 200 after its release last month. The feat marked the first time for a traditional group to claim three No. 1s on the chart in less than a year since The Beatles’ own 1995-96 run.
