Following a first look at BEAMS’ latest Nike collaboration, we now have official imagery of the forthcoming Nike React Presto and accompanying clothing. Taking cues from Buddhism, the “Dharma” release is inspired by the bright hues of daruma dolls.
A variety of head-turning hues play atop the upper of the cutting edge Nike silhouette, yielding even brighter tones than the official debut colorways, each of which nods to a different type of daruma doll. For instance, green daruma represent wishes for good health, while orange figurines indicate prayers for high marks in school. The disparate colors are realized on asymmetric panels across the React Presto, with a white midsole and laces helping to ground the fanciful design, which recalls BEAMS’ collaborative Presto from 2016.
Accompanying the runner is a set of bespoke running gear emblazoned with the same stylized daruma branding seen on the insole of the sneakers. Offered in monochrome hues, the T-shirts and shorts are elevated by multi-toned Swooshes embroidered at the chest or leg, the sole pop of color on the wearables.
Priced at ¥13,000 JPY (approximately $120 USD) for the React Presto, ¥4,000 JPY (approximately $35 USD) for the T-shirts and ¥7,000 JPY (approximately $65 USD)E for the shorts, the collection hits BEAMS’ site and stores on May 25.
Elsewhere, BEAMS delivered two see-through “skeleton” G-SHOCK timepieces.
