This Hilarious 'Space Jam 2' & 'NBA 2K' Mashup Trailer Reimagines Current NBA Stars as the Monstars
Spot the King and Travis Scott in the iconic Tune Squad jersey.
Although LeBron James isn’t scheduled to begin filming for Space Jam 2 until summer, an NBA 2K video editor known as Shady has concocted a trailer of what the film might look like in the video game world.
Using a mixture of in-game, on-court and original Space Jam footage, the minute-long trailer sees NBA stars Carmelo Anthony, Isiah Thomas, DeMarcus Cousins, Draymond Green and Javal McGee as the notorious Monstars squad going head-to-head against Tune Squad players James, Dwyane Wade, Travis Scott, and J.R. Smith with his “Secret Stuff.” As Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton warns the team of their lineup’s missing fifth member, actor Michael Rapaport suits up to save both the game and the universe.
Watch the full trailer above and get yourself hyped. Space Jam 2 hits theaters July 16, 2021.
In case you missed it, Milwaukee Bucks PF Giannis Antetokounmpo admitted he declined a Space Jam 2 role.
